“Go Now” glass locket. 17″ x 8 x 3″. Represented by Jane Sauer Gallery, my work will be exhibited at Glass Weekend Wheaton Culture Arts, Milleville, NJ this June 7-9th. Glass Weekend is a spectacular celebration of glass, glass artists, and collectors, with discussions, demonstrations, and a lively benefit auction.
For this exhibition, I’ve submitted work from my “Bound” series, which addresses human issues that fall out of our control. I’ve explored the perception of choice, or lack of choice; people we meet and the places they hold in our lives; dreams, or lack of dreams. My “Bound” series attempts to address these concepts by binding two related domestic objects together with glass chain. One object is as beautiful as I could make it, the other as ugly, representing how our lives are bound to circumstances often out of our control.
